Welcome to T3M Tours and our extraordinary African journeys. This edition takes you down one of South Africa's most celebrated roads.
Why this route works
The Garden Route takes its name from the lush, ecologically diverse landscape it runs through — dense indigenous forests, coastal lakes and fynbos vegetation that stay green year-round, a rarity along this part of the African coast.
Reading the land
The route is really several distinct landscapes stitched together. Barrydale and the Swartberg Pass sit in the Little Karoo, a semi-arid mountain region where the light and temperature shift noticeably as you climb.
Push further and you reach the Tankwa Karoo — true desert, some of the darkest night skies in the country, and a place where silence is the main feature. From there the terrain flips again near Bushmans Kloof, home to some of the oldest San rock art in Southern Africa, thousands of years old.
Every journey we operate is private — you're getting stories, context and insight that only locals know.
Why Botlierskop gets a full day
Not every stop is for driving through.
Botlierskop is Big Five territory, and game viewing works on the animals' schedule, not the traveler's — a rushed half-day rarely delivers a real sighting.
That's the reason a proper Garden Route itinerary builds in a full day here rather than treating it as a drive-by stop.
